Our Valentine's Day

Hope everyone had a lovely and sweet Valentine's Day a few days ago!

I can never understand why some people are SO AGAINST celebrating this holiday. Sure it is pretty heavily commercialized but that does not mean you have to give in to all the stuff that tv is pushing and get your sweetheart jewelry, chocolates or stuffed toys... I feel like it should be about developing your own personal traditions (kind of like with Thanksgiving and Christmas) and really doing something special with the person you love.
Oh and the argument that you should be nice and do nice things every day and not just once a year... ABSOLUTELY agree with that BUT there is NOTHING wrong with doing something special, or extra special, on THAT day as well!

Ok, rant over. Now for what we did. Valentine's is definitely present as a holiday here in Switzerland. Not to the same degree as in the US but most stores had hearts and other lovey dovey displays in their windows and there were chocolates on sale at the supermarket.

We kept our little celebreation pretty low key for obvious reasons. CJ managed to come home from work a little earlier than normal which was awesome! We went downstairs to the sushi restaurant next door and picked up some yummy super fresh sushi (I kept it pregnancy safe by eating California rolls).

This is how my wonderful hubby presented all the yummy stuff.

And for dessert we shared this delicious fresh strawberry and cream cake.

Everything was so yummy!

What a fun little celebreation! I am so lucky to have such a wonderful hubby!
