We finally finished all the little things I was planning for Katherine's room. We kept it pretty simple and neutral since this is a rental apartment and we can't do any painting or put holes in the walls (due to them being covered in textured wallpaper...). But we wanted her room to be cozy and pleasant, and not too temporary. I know she will only use it for a year or so, but I wanted to enjoy it too and I wanted to have the experience of creating a place for a newborn. It's a once in a lifetime experience, right?
So tada tada tada.... here is the grand reveal...
Her wall letters came out really nice. And in this picture alone there are 4 items that make noise/play music... The baby monitor, the mobile, the sleep sheep and the musical hippo. This child might get really overstimulated if I don't control myself...
Very light and neutral...
I kept the changing station very American. Europeans use these changing tables where the baby is facing you instead of being sideways.
Comfy rocker from Ikea and all the books she got at my US baby shower. Love it!
She is probaby the only baby with a 150-year-old marble fireplace in her nursery... haha...
And notice the South Africa inspiration... we found this awesome poster in a frame shop in Birkdale Village. I also have a Sophie giraffe (well ok she's French not S.African...) and a giraffe blanker I bought for her in Johannesburg. One day she will hear about all the crazy places she has visited while in utero...
