35 week survey and 8 month belly shot

How far along: 35 weeks which makes it FULL 8 MONTHS! Yea!

Size of baby: Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that she's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew melon). Because it's so snug in your womb, she isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, (ACTUALLY KATE IS AS ACTIVE AND WIGGLY AS EVER!!) but the number of times she kicks should remain about the same. Her kidneys are fully developed now, and her liver can process some waste products. Most of her basic physical development is now complete — she'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight

Total Weight Gain / Loss: 36 lbs!! Whoa!!

Gender: A girlie! Katherine Anne

Movement: She is a little acrobat in there. Constantly moving and making my belly all wavy and weird shaped. It cracks me up. Every evening we sit together and just stare at the funny shapes and pokey lumps and hills she makes...

What I miss: Being able to sit like a normal person... See "Symptoms" below...

Sleep: Finally over this nasty jet lag and sleeping like a baby! I'm only up once to pee so nothing bad.

Symptoms: My right ribs are killing me still... I can't really sit in a nornal position for more than a few minutes and that's typically before noon. Afternoons and evenings - forget about it. I can't live without my pillow folded under my back and being half reclined.

Cravings: Nothing really, but in other food news, my hatred of chocolate is definitely OVER. I love me some chocolate now. I made awesome PB chip brownies this week and they are disppearing fast. Not good! Must each fruit instead of chocolate!

Best moment of this week: Finally being done with getting the nursery organized! Yea! I should be able to post some pictures soon. Don't expect anything fancy though. This is a rental so we can't make any big changes, plus I am an accountant not an artist = I don't have a lot of creative skills...

What are we looking forward to: Doc appt on Tuesday... I can't wait to see what position she is in and to find out what the next step is. If she's head up, we'll do the version. If it works, we wait, if not, we can schedule the c-section.  Either way, I just want to know, so I can start getting my mind around it.

Randoms: Lately I've been wondering about what it will feel like when she is out. As in - will my belly feel weirdly empty and lonely without all the rolling movements inside? How long will it take for it to go back to what it was before sizewise? Will it ever go back to what it was before? When will I be able to wear my normal clothes? I really miss my favorite Citizens jeans... Will my ribs (!!!!) and hips go back to normal? Weird I know. Anybody have any answers?

And here is a 35 week picture.

So glad you are loving chocolate again, and your belly shot is so cute!!

I don't have all the answers for you, but I know after I had Emery I immediately tried on my size small shirts and couldn't believe how tight they were! I didn't have a big pregnant belly anymore so I thought they would fit... BUT NO, ribs boobs arms everything was sooo tight! It'll take some time but you'll be back to tiny tiny Mada again in no time!

Good luck at your appt. We are going in for our external version friday morning. I was told now that instead of a shot to relax the uterus, that I am actually getting an epidural. It's a bit more that I anticipated, but we're going to give it a try. Let me know how your doctor appointment goes and I'll keep you posted on our version.

Love the latest belly shot of Kate!I was so disappointed when Cory didn't weigh 50 lbs. when he was born. Boo-hoo. It took me 6 months to reclaim my body/space/whatever. I nursed til he was 6 months.I'm sure you will too busy with Kate to notice the "absence" in your belly.
Love you,
mom
