How far along: 33 weeks as of Sunday.
Size of baby: This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds and has passed the 17-inch mark. She's rapidly losing the wrinkled, alien look and her skeleton is hardening. The bones in her skull aren;t fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for her to fit through the birth canal. The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can growas her brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.
Total Weight Gain / Loss: Uhhmmm.... I'll postpone letting you know till next time ok?... Scared to step on the scale after the holidays.
Gender: A GIRL!! Katherine Anne
Movement: Still very active, even on the flight back to Geneva she was doing her normal acrobatics making my tummy roll in weird peaks and valleys.
What I miss: Nothing at this point.
Sleep: Ok. I keep waking up at 3-4am and if I start analyzing a baby related topic, I can't go abck to sleep.
Symptoms: Sore ribs on the right side still. Other than that everything is A-OK.
Cravings: None. I think I have satisfied all of my recent cravings during the home visit.
Best moment of this week: Getting all the breast feeding supplies and shipping them off to Switzerland. One step closer to being baby ready.
What are we looking forward to: The 33 week doc visit. It's been 4 weeks since the last one and I can't wait to see her on the ultrasound (hopefully we get one this time) and finding out if she's anywhere near being head down. I still have a sneaky feeling she's wedged sideways in my belly.
Randoms: I am really excited to go back to Switzerland. Can't wait to start walking everywhere again and getting settled and ready for her. Also, I am compiling all of the paperwork we will need to register her birth here and then apply for her baby passport as soon as she pops out. Baby passports are valid for 5 years which makes it hilarious if you get one for them as soon as they're born. Think about how different a 4 year old looks from a newborn... Heck, compare a newborn to a baby even 2 months old... Oh well. She can always say - I had a bad hair day in that picture...
And finally 33 week belly shot.
