First signs of fall

We went for a walk on Sunday afternoon taking advantage of the gorgeous weather. It is still very warm but I noticed that the boulevard on the outskirts of Old Town which is lined with chestnut trees is already staring to look like fall...  To get to this place you walk about 5 minutes from our apartment past Parc des Bastions and climb up the "wall" of the oldest part of Geneva, where you can sit and rest on the longest park bench in town and admire the view of the park, of Plainpalais and the rest of the city.

Once up there we found out that the trees were all dropping their nuts. It was amazing. The day was pretty windy so with every stronger gust there would be a rain, literally, rain of green, spiky pods falling off the trees and smashing on the ground releasing gorgeous, shiny chestnuts. We hung out there for a bit and had fun with the chestnuts. Somehow we never actually got whacked on the head with the falling bombers... Too funny. That was fun and made me feel like I was in elementary school again... That's what kids would do back in the day when I was a little girl in PL once school started in September. I don't care how warm it is - to me this is the first sign of fall.

Enjoy the pics!
