Seattle trip - part two

On Saturday we had all kinds of family activities planned.

In the morning we headed to Tacoma to meet CJ's cousin, Zac, his wife Samantha and their two boys, Taylor (7) and Jack (5). I haven't actually met any of them in person, but we've been talking on Facebook for ages and also Zac has a twin brother, Josh, whom I've known for as long as I've known CJ (he was one of CJ's groomsmen at our wedding) so really if felt as if we were old friends.

We hung out at their place for a while, the boys showed Katherine all their toys and their room. The younger one was especially into Katherine. It was so cute. He kept pulling her by the hand to show her things and tried picking her up to carry her places. Too funny.

Then we headed to the Tacoma Children's Museum, which is their version of our Discovery Place Kids. We told Katherine we were going to Discovery Place and she was super excited about it. We had a blast there! They had all kinds of water tables, climbing structures, ball to toss. They kids were in heaven. One nice thing about that place is that admission is free for everyone. Some large corporation is sponsoring it for the next several years and everyone can have access to educational fun. Really neat.
Around noon we headed back to the hotel for a nap and thankfully Katherine did not fall asleep in the car, she made it all the way back which was such a relief. Nothing is worse than having the kid fall asleep for 10 minutes in the car because there is no way they will be able to transition to a longer nap after that. Anywho, she made it, went to sleep in her bed and gave us a nice long nap. I really am shocked at how well she was sleeping throughout that entire trip.

Once she finally woke up, we headed to CJ's Aunt's house in Gig Harbor for a family dinner. Auntie Ann was the final family member on CJ's side that I had to meet and she made us feel so wonderful and welcome. We had all kinds of yummy food for dinner and then the kids were playing (and at times trashing her place).
The final point on the program was gender reveal for Zac and Sam's third baby which will be born in May. They brought a balloon hidden inside a big box and it was.... BLUE!! They are having another boy! How cool! A little brother for Taylor and Jack! Fun.

And that was day 2.
