Seattle trip - part three

On Sunday we had all kinds of touristy stuff planned. Once again, it was cloudy and drizzling. Honestly, I don't remember seeing clouds so low overhead from anywhere else I have been. Only when we were standing on a mountain top somewhere in the Alps in Switzerland and the like. I know there are times of gorgeous, clear, sunny weather over there. But this time, it was what you would think 100% typical Seattle. Rain all the time and gray, dreary clouds. That's why we tried to stay inside as much as possible.

First item to check off the list was Pike's Place Market. A must for any visitor in Seattle. Since it was very early on Sunday morning, it wasn't really bustling or anything. The famous fish throwing guys were yelling out orders as they always do and we took some cool photos. We saw some massive crab legs and fish, but nothing was flying. Oh well. It was cool to see anyway.

We walked over (and Facebook checked-in) at the Original Starbucks store, where I decided to get a commemorative coffee cup.

After that we headed to the Seattle aquarium. We spent about 2 hours there and we had a blast! Katherine loves animals, which includes fish, seals, otters and all kinds of little sea critters. She was able to touch star fish and coral and 'gummy guys' (these soft floaty... not sure what to call them).

We had a really  great time there!

Later we came back to have lunch at the hotel and put Katherine down for a nap. And after her nap we headed to CJ's happy place on this planet, that is REI. Seattle has one of the flagship stores and it truly it pretty unique. It is right in downtown and it is a paradise for shopping and playing. I don't have any pics from there unfortunately.

That pretty much concluded our stay on the west coast. We flew out the next day in the morning. Katherine did really good on the flight again and easily adjusted back to our own time zone.

What a cool experience it was!
