Les Vins du Geneve - wine festival in Satigny

This weekend we met up with some friends and went to a wine festival in the town next to Geneva called Satigny. It is only a 15 minute train ride from the main train station here. Turns out it is a very popular event as the train was packed to the rafters with wine lovers.
We got to Satigny, met up with Chris, his wife Rachel and their little girl Lilly (two and a half) through the countryside from one winery to another. At the first place we bought tasting glasses (5 francs apiece) and proceeded to try unlimited different kinds of wines. The weather turned out to be gorgeous and we had a fantastic time. At one of the wineries we even got to see some live local entertainment: two yodeler ladies in folk outfits and then two men playing the traditional Swiss mountain horns. Lily was hilarious. She insisted on carrying her daddy's glass, she was fascinated by the singers and the horn players.

Here is a group of wine lovers on the way to the winery... then us etc...

At one of the places we also saw an Amercan legend!

And at another one saw how local fondue was made - wonder if I could try that at home... They cut a whole wheel of cheese in half and stick it under a broiler. Later people can dip bread and aother foods in the melted goodnes.

And finally we spotted this cool thing:

The day was a lot of fun!
