Couple of weekends ago when it was raining in Geneva we took a quick trip across the French border to Annecy. I've been there last spring at a work conference (read about it HERE) and loved it. And since then I've been trying to get CJ to go there. I knew he would love it but he kept finding excuses. But we finally went and of course he LOVED it and we are definitely coming back when it gets warmer.
We just walked along the lake and through the Old Town - that was easy since all of Annecy is OLD haha... then we had a nice lunch (Katherine did too haha...) and finally we went home. It's a really cool town - old and charming, with cute gift and crafts shops, little cafe's and restaurants. Plus the lake is gorgeous! There is a nature preserve with a beach and bike trails along the shore so it's a great place to go on a weekend - for swimming, biking and just hanging out. Oh and you can rent boats and go for a ride on the lake. Fun! Whoever comes to visit us, make sure to ask us to take you there. The only bad thing is having to pay tolls on the French highway. Going there you are on it for all of 5 minutes each way and it costs 6 Euro a pop. A little steep for my taste.
Here are some photos (not all were taken by us)
CJ's lunch. Local Savoie sausages in white wine sauce and garlic potatoes.
My lunch, called "Hamburger-not how the Americans make it". DEAD SERIOUS that was the name on the menu...
Katherines lovely lunch of a bottle of milk....
Man I ate soooo much...
Lovely views.
Who wants to come visit us?
