Birkdale Village Christmas tree lighting

We are so lucky to live where we do. Huntersville and Cornelius have so many cool events around the holidays! One of them was Christmas Tree Lighting at Birkdale Village which we attended with Katherine and some of our friends. It was great.
The event started with a - very brief - parade, with a marching band, firetrucks and local sponsors. The final item of the parade was Santa in a sleigh pulled by a pair of horses. Katherine didn't really care for Santa at that point but she sure enjoyed the firetrucks and their ruckus. We just HAD TO go and visit with the firefighters and she was showing off that she knew what noise a fire engine makes. They let her sit inside and it was all great fun.
I think she was really impressed by the tree too.
Here are some photos and a video of the lighting.
