Shirley's Angels Breast Cancer 5K

On Mothers Day weekend we ran our first 5K as a family and had a blast with it! CJ's Aunt (Katherine's Godmother) is involved with Shirley's Angels which is a Breast Cancer charity here in the Charlotte area. Here is a link to their website. They were putting on a great 5K and AJ was volunteering and we of course wanted to participate.

This was our first race is a loooong time! Probably since before we moved to Switzerland. In the mean time CJ developed a knee injury and I had not really ran 3 miles in a very long time so we were going into it with low expectations. But as it often happens, the surge of adrenaline on the day of the event helped us get through the course actually running the entire thing and in a really decent time too. I finished in under 30 minutes. CJ was behind me but only because he was pushing the crazy wiggly monkey in her stroller!
