By some weird coincidence, we ended up on a street that has a little baby girl between the ages 1-2.5 (as of now) in every or every other house, and literally every day while hanging in the yard we meet neighbors who play with their daughters. It is the coolest thing ever. Well two doors down from us there is a little Catherine ( yes! What a coincidence right??!! Though she goes by Cate), and she is maybe 6 weeks older than our Katherine. They LOVE to follow each other when they get together. Cate has been walking for 3 months now so Katherine waddles after her and gets sooo excited! I truly think this is the best motivation for her to practice walking. This is the two of them at the neighborhood part a few days ago. Katherine spotted Cate and literally ran after her. They started walking around the sand, then both climbed on the bouncy pandas and bounced their little heads off... Then they started climbing up the huge slide and Cate's nanny and I had to intervene... Too funny.
But there are more girls! Both our next door neighbors on both sides have little girls. On one side we have Emalyn who was born almost exactly a year before Katherine. She is a little rascal and daredevil. Seriously the bravest, most fearless little kid I know. She jumps on the slide and goes down head first, runs like a little monkey. She is so much fun. So the other day something fun happened. Out in the yard again, Katherine and Cate spotted and started walking to each other. Emalyn lives in the middle so we met in her driveway, and both girls started climbing on our neighbors' front porch. They have some rocking chairs, a funky gnome and a cow statue there. All of a sudden Cate is in the rocking chair, Katherine starts riding the cow like a horse.... And us moms just stand there. Emalyn or her mom are NOT there I might add... Haha.... And all of a sudden they come out to the garage and notice us and they're like "Oh hi guys, what are you doing here??...." That was hilarious. Wish I had some pictures... We all hung out and the kids played together. So fun. By the way, since then, Katherine always wants to ride the cow as soon as she spots it... See the picture...
Now on the other side of us lives a little girl, Hailey. She is 2.5 and is the sweetest thing ever. She goes to school while her parents work, so she doesn't get home till after 6 in the evenings. That's why it's tough to get the girls together to play. But Hailey always asks if Katherine can come out to play, and she wants to share her cool trike and toy car with her. So sweet.
And a few doors down is another family with an 18 month old girl Zoe. I just met her mom while outside recently. Katherine and Zoe seem to be on pretty much the same schedule so we're looking forward to getting them together for some playtime at the part soon.
Ok this was pretty wordy... And I started with just one photo and planned for a Wordless Wednesday post.,. Clearly not wordless... Haha....

Just catching up with your blog posts and enjoying the comments and photos/video's. Cory sent the 'walking' video but it was terribly distorted and pixelated altho he audio was fine. Well, now I've seen it
You are doing a wonderful job Mada. Grampy told me about the books you also made. Can't wait to see them.
Love you,
Mom
So cute, y'all are totally blessed by having so many kiddos around you that are the same age!
