Montreux Christmas Market

One of my most favorite things in the world is going to Christmas Markets and Festivals. Krakow PL, where I used to live, has a massive one each year. I took CJ to it when we were visiting back in 2009. I knew there was bound to be one somewhere here so I made it my point to find it once we moved here.

Geneva is pretty scattered when it comes to such events so we looked outside the city and found a really nice big one in Montreux, a city about 1 hr up the lake from us, which is normally known for the International Jazz Festival. Well in the winter they turn into a Christmas Town. That's where we went last Sunday.

Here are some pictures we took.

Isn't this place just gorgeous?
Stands with all kinds of goodies...
Enjoying some hot tea with rum...

Too warm for snow, so they made snow from foam...
Cake anyone?
We enjoyed a plate of a local (Canton de Vaud) specialty, mixture of cooked potatoes, Vaudois sausage, onions and Gruyere cheese... Cooked in gigantic vats and was getting snatched up pretty fast. Soo yummy!
And some waffles (gauffres) for dessert.
What a fun day it was!
