I missed the last two weeks hiking because of the trips we took so I was ready to catch up with the ladies from the club. This time we went north west of the city to La Plaine. The hike took about 2 hours, which is much shorter than the last one I went on, and though it was easier, the beginning was very challenging. Again, we started climbing up the super steep heels up tp the local wineries (steep as in 45 degrees up!! Think those blood sugar level med commercials where everyone walks leaning sideways. Insane!)After that it was mostly flat walking.
We took a regional train from Geneva and as soon as we left the city we got into a super thick layer of fog. We were worried that we wouldn't get any nice views all day... Here's what it looked like...
But as we kept climbing luckily it started clearing up more and more...
... and before long we got to a cute little town and the weather turned perfect!
We got some gorgeous views of the Jura Mountains...
... and made friends with some sheep. Haha...
And this is where we completed the loop and climbed back down to La Plaine.
Check out the way we went up NOW! Perfect blue sky!
What a perfect day. By the way, it is definitely WINTER already. It was freezing cold on the way there... We got warm walking, but we could still our breaths the entire time out. So glad I can get out and keep moving like that!
