So as you will see from the pictures in this post, I turned 35 in June. I am still shocked by that fact... I don't feel older than 27, well maybe 32, I do have to acknowledge the fact that I am in my 30s. Turning 30 was no big deal. But now that I am actually 35 it just feels so weird... I used to think that 35 was so old, serious and experienced. But now I still feel like a kid, even though I have a house and family to take care of. I don't feel like I'm past anything in life... I feel great, I think I look ok, I am in great physical shape, and full of energy. Certainly not how I used to imagine 35 would feel like... Silly right?
Anyways, I had a lovely birthday in Ocean Isle. Katherine slept in on my birthday, which in turn allowed us to hang out, enjoy the morning coffee (me, not CJ) and talk about life and how fast it is passing by, and how grateful we are for what we have and where we are in life.
Then after breakfast we headed to the beach for some fun. That's when the flooding incident happened, where I had to rescue our stuff... haha...
After beach, we got dressed up and headed to The Isles for my bday lunch. In case anyone forgot, here is a picture from the restaurant.
And then after Katherine went down for her nap, we lit the candles on my birthday cake and chomped it down... I had only two requests for my birthday. Number 1, I wanted a nice bday lunch, and Number 2, I wanted a
round bday cake, preferably chocolate. I got both, and it made for a fabulous celebration. Oh, having my sweet fam with me was fabulous too.
Here is my amazing cake - chocolate fudge cake with chocolate frosting. Couldn't get any better!
Here's to mid-thirties! May they last a long time!
