Elmo love

Katherine is not a big tv fan. I tried getting her interested in Mickey Mouse and some other cartoons so she would learn about the popular characters but she never sits still long enough to watch anything. She much prefers tearing up the house etc. She is only interested in commercials but only those that have cats or dogs in them. she loves animals...

But recently I recorded an episode of Sesame Street and she sat there and watched it for good 10 minutes at least! I was shocked. What made her sit still for so long? It was a segment about Elmo! This girl absolutely adores Elmo! She's learned to say Elmo a few months ago, she has a little Elmo figurine and she carries it around all the time. She loves pointing out Elmo on her diapers etc. And till now she never even saw Elmo in action. What is it about these kid characters that is so universally appealing... Too funny.
