I hope everyone had a lovely Memorial Day! We sure did around here! First of all the weather cooperated. It was a gorgeous summer weekend spent doing fun family things. Here is a recap.
On Saturday we did some chores around the house and had a tasty family lunch at Cracker Barrel. Katherine ate like a big girl and enjoyed some mac & cheese and carrots.
In the evening CJ started building us a baby gate for the deck. I will show the finished product later.
On Sunday we played outside a lot, and in the evening we went over to our neighbors' Chris and Claire for a cookout. They are the parents of baby Cate who is only a few weeks older than Katherine. The girls has a blast together.
Then on Monday we got up early and headed over to a new state park for a hike. Katherine had a great time! Somebody's puppy tagged along with us the whole time and she just kept pointing and laughing hysterically. It was the longest she's been in the hiking pack and she did great!
Then in the afternoon we headed to the neighborhood pool for some splash time and again we saw how much of a water baby she is! She lived the water and all the sprinklers and jets. I spaced outand didn't bring an toys for her. Clearly a big mistake since she just kept screaming 'ball!!' And running after other kids' beach balls. Luckily there were a lot of kids with a lit of toys so nobody minded her grabbing their stuff for a bit.
Then after pool time CJ finished assembling the baby gate while I cooked dinner. And I have to officially state here that he is a better, more productive parent than I am. No idea how he was able to install that gate with her underfoot. I an never get anything done when she's with me.
Here is the final product.
It was a great weekend!
