I love how easy these kinds of things are to do in Geneva... I mean getting places to do fun things.
We packed a backpack with cut up watermelon (you have to have watermelon in the summer!), snacks, water, wine, blankets, etc. We walked out of our apartment and hopped on the 15 bus going towards the park . The bus stop is literally ourside of our door. Love it! The ride took all of 12 minutes, then we walked maybe 3 minutes towards the park and voila! we met with everyone...
Lauren and Gabe came early and blocked a nice little area for all of us, right in the middle of the big lawn with a great view of the lake and the big blow up screen.
Leading up to the movie American classics were playing like beach Boys, Bruce Springsteen etc. Some people dressed as fighter pilots, captains, and one guy even entertained the crowd as an air traffic controller (ping pong paddles for the light-wavy-things).
Also just prior to the movie, they rolled these super funny spoof movie clips of Top Gun made by people in Geneva. If I figure out how to add videos to blog posts I will add one. They were HILARIOUS!
Here's us with the Johnsons...
At sunset the movie started and we sat there, chatted, laughed, ate our snacks, and watched. The audience (mostly young people) was really lively, they would lauch, cheer, boo and clap as the scenes were unrolling. It was really funny.
It was a really fun evening and we hope to find more opportunities to meet up with friends soon.
